The Ministry of Children and Education
The Ministry of Children and Education earlier known as the Ministry of Education regulates general education policies and ensuring educational programmes are consistent with current policies. In the year 2001, the overall responsibility for universities was moved to the newly created Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. The Ministry of Children and Education controls non-university, tertiary-level education.

Ministry of Culture
Higher education institutions providing training in arts and culture comes under the Ministry of Culture.

Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration

The National Agency for Quality and Supervision
Also established in the year 2006 as the Agency for Evaluation and Quality Development of Primary and Lower Secondary Education, this organisation is responsible for implementation of national tests in folkeskole and supervision of municipalities for production of yearly quality reports. The Danish Evaluation Institute
The Danish Evaluation Institute/EVA was established in 1999 as an independent government institution under the Ministry of Children and Education. The purpose of this organisation is to help assure and reach a certain standard of teaching, learning and education.
The institute conducts evaluation of teaching and learning for all levels of education since 2008. This includes primary and secondary as well as higher education. This evaluation covers public educational establishments and private education providers as well.

The Accreditation Agency for Higher Education
The Accreditation Agency for Higher Education(ACE) was established in the year 2007 as an independent institution under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. According to the Act of 2007, the agency will ensure and document the relevance as well as the quality of higher education study programmes. This is done through the basis of criteria laid out for existing and new study programmes.
