Danish Language Proficiency Test 2 For International Students

Danish language proficiency Test level 2 is for those who require shorter education in their home country and come to Denmark for a longer duration of study. The Danish level 2 Test known as Dansk Prove 2″ is also needed for students who want a permanent residence permit in Denmark. The test provides students a chance to upgrade their skills in fields such as preparatory adult education as well as adult education. Students can also use the scores on this test for a job application.

Annual Frequency of the Test

This exam is held twice in a year. It is either held in the months of May and June or November and December. There is no possibility for any kind of re-examination so students should be well prepared and ensure that they are completely competent in the language. Take the test only if you are well prepared.

Format of the Test

The test has a written as well as an oral component and both must be passed in one go in the same examination.

Application and Registration Process

For the oral part, students must give a topic selected prior to the exam. Personal topics pertaining to Danish affairs must be the area around which the topic is chosen. The test authorities must receive the topic at least 15 days before the starting date of the oral part.

Students should sign up for the test no more than 10 weeks before the date of the written test. To appear for this exam, photo ID proof is needed of the following kind:
  • Passport/residence card/alien or convention passport or driver's license that have been issued by the Danish authorities.
  • Passport/ identity card/ driver's license issued by authorities in EU/EEA or Switzerland
  • Please note that passports of students other than that of EU/EEA or Switzerland must also have residence or visa sticker from a Schengen country.
Rules Regarding the Test

Students cannot appear for the test without photo ID proof.
  • Those with disability such as dyslexia must inform the authorities beforehand so that they can be given assistance
  • Dates for the test are announced by the Ministry and those who are registered for the test must only trust official sources.
Eligibility for the Test

Only students who have been accepted in Danish higher educational institution such as universities and colleges for programmes can appear for this test. Students from Nordic nations who had Danish as part of their entrance test for the selection process need not take this exam.

Universities which Accept Test Scores

Denmark's universities accept this test's scores for students who have good knowledge of the Danish language. All Danish higher educational institutions accept this test's score.

With adequate preparation, students can crack this exam. They should enroll in Danish language centres where training in the language is for free for those who have been accepted at Danish institutions for higher studies.
