Admission to Bachelor’s Degree Programmes in Denmark

Admission to bachelor's degree programmes is based on completion of general upper secondary education. If you have successfully finished upper secondary studies and are in possession of a valid school leaving certificate and qualify for higher education studies in your home country, you may also meet the criteria for higher education studies in Denmark. However, you will be required to prove your level of English and/or Danish. For this, you will require to take language tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, and Cambridge ESOL examinations. In a few cases, you might require to take some additional qualifying curriculum.

The title HA may be used in business administration. Legal studies involve the title of Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.). Undergraduate degree programmes are oriented towards providing students with a strong base of knowledge which they can expand upon later. Bachelor’s Degree within Arts in Denmark

The bachelor's degree within arts is awarded following three years of study. This involves 180 ECTS credits. Admission is based on passing an entrance exam. Programmes are based on research as well as artistic research. Programmes are also offered in diverse fields within fine arts such as architecture and music.

Higher education degrees within theatre/filmmaking are awarded following four years of study. This totals 240 ECTS credits.

Degree in adult/continuing Higher Education

The diploma degree/diplomuddannelse is provided following two years of part-time study. This involves a total of 60 ECTS credits.

Key Statistical Figures For Bachelor's Programmes

About 64, 746 students have been accepted to the higher education programmes in 2013 as per the Ministry of Education website. This has led to a 2% increase as compared to the year 2012. The largest intake was found to be for engineering programmes. Professional bachelor's degree programmes were also a popular choice among students.

Business academies also experienced a surge in AP degree programmes in disciplines such as tourism management and hospitality. There was also increased intake of students in professional bachelor's degree programmes with the technical field seeing 602 more students admitted on the basis of bachelor of engineering programmes and construction management programmes.

This is an increase of around 17%. 437 more students were admitted in pedagogic training in 2013 as compared to last year which marks an increase of 5%. The greatest number was seen in the pedagogic field. A 12% increase was noticed in a teacher training programme which is around 309 students more than 2012.
