Undergraduate Degree Programmes in Denmark

There are numerous variety of courses offered at bachelor's/ undergraduate level. This includes architectural technology and construction management as well as art and technology. Other topics include Asian studies programmes as well as BA (Honours) in Business Administration. Students can learn about any range of topics from global business strategies to marketing programmes as well as customer relations and international accounting practices. Academic Calendar and Admission Procedure for Undergraduate Degree Programmes in Denmark

Applications to undergraduate higher education courses in Denmark are locally assessed at institutions but coordinated in a central way. As a result of this , prospective students need not apply directly to any single educational institution. Application has to be made through a national admission website: www.optagelse.dk. The website commenced on February 1 and the deadline for applications is 12 noon on March 15. Responses to the application are to be received on July 30 and it is mandatory to use the online admission portal. Those who are disabled can use the digital application system to contact the educational institution which can be exempted so that permit can be received to send the application from mail. Educational institutions will also provide paper-based forms .  
For application to undergraduate higher education programmes , applicants are divided into two quotas namely Quote 1 and Quote 2.

Quota 1 and Quota 2

Citizens from EU and EEA who have passed qualifying exams can be assessed in both the quotas while those who have another access, namely, vocational training or single subject courses, can be assessed in Quota 2. In cases Quota 1 as well as Quota 2, application deadline is March 15 at noon. Those completing the exam in June may apply before the deadline while students can also attach the diploma to the application on optagelse.dk before the 5th of July.

Quota 1

Those students who apply via Quota 1 will only be assessed on the basis of results of the qualifying exam which is the upper secondary education namely the GPA. The diploma must be uploaded to the application at optagelse.dk. The GPA will be converted by the educational institution to a Danish 7-point grading scale so that the GPA can be compared with those of other students. The upper secondary school exam can also be equated to a Danish upper secondary school exam. The educational institution will convert the GPA to a Danish 7-point grading scale to compare the GPA with that of Danish applicants. This requires the upper secondary school exam to be equated to a Danish upper secondary school exam. 

Assessment in Quota 1

The assessment in Quota 1 is based on descending order of GPAs. Applicants with the highest grade point averages are admitted till all the seats are taken with respect to a particular course. The minimum GPA is the last applicant's grade point average and this is declared after the entire admission process is completed by 30th July. GPAs can vary from one year to another depending upon the number of applicants and the GPA of the applicants as well as the number of available study spots. This is more so for applicants with upper secondary education diploma.
